Sea Freight
Uzbekistan is landlocked, so sea freight here is always multimodal. We run the whole chain: port, transshipment, delivery to your warehouse.
How it works for a landlocked country
Cargo travels by sea to a port, then by rail or road to Tashkent. The critical part is not the ocean leg but the handover: if transshipment is not arranged in advance, the container sits idle and you pay demurrage.
We run the entire chain under one contract, so one party is accountable for the handovers — not three.
FCL and LCL
FCL (Full Container Load) — the whole container is yours. Cost-effective above a certain volume and safer: the container is not opened en route.
LCL (Less than Container Load) — consolidated container. You pay per cubic metre. Good for small batches, but adds consolidation and deconsolidation time.
What to weigh up
Sea is the slowest but cheapest mode for large volumes. It makes sense when the cargo is not urgent: machinery, raw materials, equipment, seasonal goods ordered in advance.
If you are against the clock, we price air or a direct rail leg and tell you honestly which is better.
What the service includes
Line booking, cargo pickup, export clearance, ocean freight, port handling, transfer to rail or road, import customs, door delivery.
What drives the price of sea freight
The ocean freight rate, which moves with the season and lane demand.
FCL or LCL. FCL is priced per container; LCL per cubic metre. For small batches LCL is cheaper but adds consolidation time.
Port handling and transfer to the inland leg. These are separate cost lines, and this is exactly where unexpected charges appear when the chain is split between contractors.
Port storage. Every day beyond the free period costs money.
Documents for sea freight
Invoice, packing list, contract, export declaration. The Bill of Lading is the principal transport document and is issued by the line.
Dangerous goods require a DG declaration. Certifiable goods require the relevant documents. We check all of it before dispatch: an error in the Bill of Lading is hard and expensive to correct.
How we work
You describe the cargo and the route — we ask clarifying questions. The more precise the inputs (weight, dimensions, cargo type, document readiness), the closer the quote is to the final figure.
We calculate cost and transit time and propose a delivery scheme. If another mode is better for your cargo, we say so plainly — even when it lowers our invoice.
Once agreed, we sign the contract, collect the cargo from the supplier and run it to your warehouse. At every stage you know where the cargo is and what is happening to it.
Frequently asked questions
Is sea freight to Uzbekistan even possible?
Yes, but only as part of a multimodal route: sea to port, then rail or road. We organise the full chain.
What is the difference between FCL and LCL?
FCL means the whole container is yours and is not opened en route. LCL is a consolidated container — you pay per volume, but consolidation adds time.
